Haydenfilms Institute Announces Call for Entries for the 5.0 Film Festival

Breinigsville, Pennsylvania (May 23, 2022) – On May 5, 2022, the call for entries began for the Haydenfilms 5.0 Online Film Festival. The fest welcomes feature films of all genres to compete for a $10,000 grand prize and shorts to battle for the $25,000 grand prize.

Entries will be collected now through July 15, 2023, providing global filmmakers the opportunity to compete and interact. The festival will include a 60-day online short film festival and four-day event in Los Angeles, California in January 2024, which will include an award ceremony and screenings of the top four short finalists and selected feature film finalists.

“This festival has been my passion for almost 20 years,” says founder Hayden Craddolph. “We are all so thrilled to put on another edition of the event.”

Haydenfilms was founded in 2001 to educate, empower and fund student and independent filmmakers. The first Haydenfilms Online Film Festival was launched in 2004, long before the need for virtual festivals. Every year, film entries were submitted through the festival’s website where the top 50 entries were selected, competed and voted upon by a global audience. Since then, the Online Film Festival has returned, now launching into the 5.0 edition. In the meantime, Haydenfilms also created a Screenwriting Competition which allowed writers to compete for a $10,000 grand prize. The inaugural competition announced its first winner in January 2022. The 2.0 Screenwriting Competition will take place in 2024.

“Even after all this time, I believe in the power of accessibility and distribution for independent filmmakers,” Craddolph says. “The most talented people in the world just need a little support. We want to provide that platform, knowledge and networking they need to break into the industry. We believe in the potential of independent filmmakers.”

The HFI team hopes all ambitious filmmakers will compete in the 5.0 Online Film Festival and join the legacy of worldwide film professionals who have emerged from past competitions.
