Fiscal Sponsorship

Fiscal sponsorship is a formal arrangement in which a 501(c)(3) public charity, such as Haydenfilms Institute, agrees to sponsor a project that furthers our mission, for the purpose of fundraising through grants and donations. This alternative to starting your own nonprofit allows you to seek grants and solicit tax-deductible donations for your film project, with the oversight, support and endorsement of HFI.

Why Haydenfilms Institute?

Haydenfilms works to empower, educate and fund global independent and student filmmakers. Our mission is simple. Since 2007, our fiscal sponsorship program has been directly accomplishing this mission, by helping global independent and student filmmakers, which may otherwise have been unable to secure funding, get funded and finished! Our very first filmmaker raised over $80,000 for their thesis film. We work with films in all stages of production, including supporting filmmakers through the crucial phases of everything from pre-production, distribution and outreach.

As Fiscal Sponsors on your project, Haydenfilms Institute will not take any ownership of your project, nor will we infringe on your creative control, copyright, or prevent you from future sales or profit from your project. Haydenfilms Institute seeks to be as non-intrusive as possible in monitoring projects. The main thing we do is to assure that the money you raise is being properly dispersed and used for the project as intended.
